1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Alpaca handles information while providing focus, blocking, reporting, notification, and exercise-challenge features. Alpaca does not require an account, display third-party advertising, or sell personal information.

2. On-device settings and plans

Your display name, onboarding choices, theme and language preferences, focus plans, selected blocking items, and usage summaries are stored locally on your device. Some data is shared through an App Group between Alpaca and its Screen Time extensions so blocking and reporting can work.

3. Screen Time data

With your authorization, Alpaca uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks to let you select apps and websites to restrict, apply shields, and produce on-device activity reports. This processing is subject to Apple’s system privacy protections and authorization controls.

4. Camera and exercise challenges

When you start an exercise challenge that uses pose detection, Alpaca accesses the front camera and analyzes frames in real time on your device. Alpaca does not save or upload camera frames. You may deny or revoke camera permission in system settings, but the related challenges will not work.

5. Notifications

With your permission, Alpaca schedules local notifications such as focus-plan and subscription reminders. Notification timing and content are handled through the device’s notification system. You can disable notifications at any time in system settings.

6. Purchases

Apple processes in-app purchases through StoreKit. Alpaca reads product, transaction, and entitlement status supplied by Apple to display prices, complete and restore purchases, and determine Pro access. We do not receive your full card or payment-account details.

7. Information you send us

If you email us, we receive the address, message, and attachments you choose to include. We use them only to respond, provide support, troubleshoot, and maintain necessary records. Please do not send unnecessary sensitive information.

8. Sharing

Alpaca interacts with Apple system services, including Screen Time, notifications, and StoreKit, only as needed to provide the relevant features. We do not disclose your personal information to other third parties unless you direct us to, it is necessary to provide support, or the law requires it.

9. Retention, deletion, and your choices

Local information generally remains until you change or reset the relevant settings in Alpaca or remove the app from your device. System-managed data may also be controlled through iOS and Apple Account settings. Support emails are retained while needed to handle the request and maintain reasonable records. You can manage Screen Time, camera, and notification permissions in system settings and contact us with a privacy request.

10. Children’s privacy

Alpaca is not specifically directed to children under 13. Minors should use it with a parent or guardian’s consent and supervision. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided personal information.

11. Security and updates

We use reasonable measures to protect information handled by Alpaca, but no device or electronic storage method is completely secure. We may update this policy when features, data practices, or legal requirements change and will communicate material changes through the app, store page, or another reasonable method.
